2018 Final Thoughts From Deborah Lucas Robinson

2018 Final Thoughts

Deborah Lucas Robinson, 2018 President

As 2018 ends, we become excited about the year before us but also reflect on the accomplishments of the year we are leaving. As I reflect, it seems like an appropriate time to offer my appreciation for the awesome year I have enjoyed as your president. What an experience!!!

Throughout 2018 there has been an underlying theme, of “Clarity”, to my approach as president. Clarity is important to me as a person and is something I am continuously seeking within this real estate world. The more knowledge we have results in better decisions and a clearer end goal!

Because of the collaboration between you the Association Members, Board of Directors, Affiliates and Association staff the 2018 list of major accomplishments is quite impressive. Together, we have exemplified the true meaning of TEAM. The introduction of new events and some revamped old events, increased member services, ongoing educational opportunities, new legislation to both educate and benefit our members and consumers, all coupled with a successful calendar of fun networking activities represent the twelve months of the MAAR 2018 calendar.

Just to highlight a FEW of the successes celebrated in 2018 …

  • REALTORS® Got Talent! The MAAR Ensemble dedicated many hours preparing to share their musical talent at a membership luncheon. What a wonderful surprise to many of us. I will be forever indebted to those who said YES!
  • Brokers Exchange met quarterly and engaged a diverse group of Brokers in healthy dialogue. These conversations offered guidance with major decisions throughout the year.
  • REALTOR® Fest was enjoyed by many!! The downtown location and wonderful weather set the pace for an evening of enjoyment. Excitement over the wonderful experience at the inaugural REALTOR FEST still enters conversations on a regular basis.
  • 50% …50% …50% was the goal attached to many challenges throughout the year and it is most rewarding when we accomplished 50% participation in support of RPAC. YEA!!!

2018 was truly a great year. Thank you all for your continued support, ideas/suggestions and whatever role you may have played in the development of new and re-birth of past services and events. I am very proud to have been a member of the MAAR leadership team for the past few years and particularly serving as the 2018 President of our Association. I now look forward with great excitement and enthusiasm for the 2019-year forthcoming.

Humbly, Forever a Servant Leader
