Community Relations Committee Serves Dinner at Camp Rap-A-Hope

The Mobile Area Association of REALTORS® Community Relations Committee Members took a few hours to prepare and serve dinner for the campers, staff and volunteers at Camp Rap-A-Hope. Monday, June 3, 2019, a group of REALTORS® started making dinner at 10:30 am with a different group serving at the Camp later in the evening. The committee Chair, Catherine Mackey, said: “Any opportunity we have to give back to the community we work in is special, but the summer camps we support at Camp Grace are dear to our hearts and something we look forward to yearly.” For close to 10 years, the committee has prepared dinner for the Camp, as a way to support the cause and everything they do. Participating in Camp Rap-A-Hope is just one more way for the Mobile REALTORS® to show, “REALTORS® Are Real People Living, Working and Investing in the Mobile Community.” It’s Who We “R®”!

According to Camp Rap-A-Hope’s website, they started in 1986, and are a non-profit organization offering free fun through year-round programs for children diagnosed with cancer and their families. The Camp’s most significant event each year is a week-long summer camp for children ages 7-17. Each year, kids from all along the Gulf Coast meet together to experience the fun and excitement of a traditional summer camp. In addition to Camp Week, Camp Rap-A-Hope offers many other programs for the entire family. Camp Rap-A-Hope is a member of Children’s Oncology Camping Association International (COCA-I) and the American Camping Association (ACA)”
