REALTOR® Party Update
Text COVID19 to 30644 to receive the latest information on NAR’s advocacy efforts on COVID-19.
NAR’s Federal Advocacy team has been working closely with Congress and the Administration to ensure the interests of REALTORS® and their clients are protected in any federal action in response to COVID-19, in addition to minimizing transaction disruptions during these very difficult circumstances. NAR FAQ on SBA Loan Programs in CARES Act
As of 4/16/20, the appropriations for both the SBA 7(a) Paycheck Protection Program loans and the Economic Injury Disaster Loans have been exhausted. NAR sent a letter to Congress on 4/13/20, urging quick action to provide additional funds for these loans, to ensure that they can assist as many small businesses in need as possible. This FAQ has been updated with additional information to reflect this change and will be updated again when the programs re-open. (read more here)

Freddie Mac Extends Multifamily Loan Forbearance Options
Mortgage financing giant Freddie Mac announced several changes on Wednesday to its COVID-19 protection options for tenants and landlords. Its program provides three months of forbearance for borrowers impacted by the pandemic. It also has a no-evictions policy for tenants during that forbearance period. Sight Unseen Offers Are Growing
Real estate sales are continuing on within a global pandemic as the use of virtual tools is giving buyers a feel for homes—so much so that some are willing to put an offer on a home without even physically stepping inside.
A quarter of REALTORS® surveyed reported that their clients put contracts on homes this week without physically seeing the property. The survey was released Thursday by the National Association of REALTORS®… (read more here)
