The Mobile Area Association of REALTORS®, through its three-way agreement with the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® strives to support and guide you through the ever-changing Real Estate Market.

Each Association provides access to a wide array of business tools, real estate market data, educational opportunities, and discount programs designed to help you succeed in today’s market.

Professional Development is one of the key factors for success and we provide educational classes, including webinars to enable you access to the latest information and technology. Continuing Education classes are also available, and we strive to obtain discounted or free rates for classes for members.

Networking is another key to success in the industry. Getting to know and learning from your peers is one of the best ways to gain knowledge and inspiration. We provide many networking opportunities such as seasonal events, fundraising mixers, and quarterly Membership Meetings. The membership meetings give you the opportunity to hear informative speakers on industry topics, enjoy a good meal, and spend time with your colleagues. We also have various committees that provide networking and learning opportunities. Our industry is constantly under fire and the Mobile Area Association of REALTORS®, Alabama Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS® continually lobby for YOU. We speak as one voice as a non-biased party for ALL REALTORS® Nationwide.

Designated REALTOR® Membership – (Qualifying Broker) Each firm shall designate in writing one REALTOR® Member who shall be responsible for all pursuant to Article 17 of the Code of Ethics and the payment of Association dues as established in Article X of the By-Laws. The “Designated REALTOR” must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm’s principal(s) and must meet all other qualifications for REALTOR® Membership established in Article V, Section 2, of the By-Laws.

REALTOR® Membership – (Salesperson) Individuals who are engaged in the real estate profession other than as sole proprietors, partners, corporate officers, or branch office managers, and are associated with a REALTOR® Member and meet the qualifications set out in Article V. (Associate Brokers, Salespersons, Appraisers.)

Affiliates – Affiliate Members shall be real estate owners and other individuals or firms who, while not engaged in the real estate profession as REALTORS®, have interests requiring information concerning real estate, and are in sympathy with the objectives of the Association. Any person or persons who are in a related field to Real Estate.

Primary REALTOR® Members – (All Member Types) An individual is a primary member of the Association he/she pays state and National dues to. *Requires DR Broker participation

Secondary REALTOR® Members – (All Member Types) An individual is a secondary Member if state and National dues are remitted through another Association other than Mobile Area Association of REALTORS®. *Requires DR Broker participation

MLS Only Participants – Any DESIGNATED REALTOR® of this or any other Association who meets the requirement of a Designated REALTOR® and agrees to conform to the rules and regulations thereof and pay the costs incidental.

MLS Only Subscriber – Any REALTOR® of this or any other Association who meets the requirement of a REALTOR® (associate brokers, sales associates, and license appraisers) and agrees to conform to the rules and regulations thereof and pay the costs incidental. *Requires DR Broker participation. (THIS MEMBERSHIP TYPE DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO FORMS)

Determine your membership type and status, review the dues schedule, Click Join MAAR, and register for your new member orientation class if applicable.

Annual Association Dues are $618.00. These dues cover your membership to the local Association, The Mobile Area Association of REALTORS® ($200), the state Association, The Alabama Association of REALTORS® ($206), and the National Association, the National Association of REALTORS® (195.00) to fulfill the three-way agreement. These dues are prorated based on the month you join through the remainder of the calendar year but are not prorated should you drop membership. These membership dues are billed annually and vary in amount from year to year.

No, Annual Association dues are billed in November of each year for anyone still active in the system. They are due no later than December 31st of each year.

Yes, a local application fee is collected upon joining. ($225.00) A onetime state application fee is also collected upon joining. ($300.00)

MLS services are available to licensed real estate professionals. These fees are $432.00 for agents and $900.00 for Designated REALTOR® (Qualifying Brokers). They are prorated based on your month of application and are not prorate if you leave.

Complete the application by selecting I’m transferring my Primary membership from another REALTOR® association. You will only need to remit payment for the local and state application fees and dues. The National dues are not required again.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We also accept electronic checks which mean you enter the information online and it is processed through ACH.
